Subject: Tomorrow- Nashua
Date: April 26, 2016 at 8:29:13 PM EDT

Hello,

Tomorrow should be sunny and close to 60 degrees with 0 chance of precipitation. This sounds too good to waste.  We will ride to downtown Nashua and decide when we get there where to have lunch.  There are lots of good possibilities.

We will leave from the Sand Hill Road parking lot on the Nashua River Rail Trail at 9:30 AM. The route is about 32 miles with a few (serious) hills in the beginning to Pepperell and Hollis, then DOWNHILL to Nashua along the river in Mine Falls Park, then LUNCH. After lunch it's more smooth trails in Mine Falls Park and then back on the NRRT.

The route is 31.9 miles with 1200 feet of elevation.

Please RSVP if you are coming.

thanks,

Carole

I hope you all enjoyed a week off.  Thank you Darlene and Dewi for leading rides the Friday before vacation.

On Friday, April 29th - Westford Forge Pond

Stephanie will be our Fearless Leader today.

For our morning fitness ride, we will be pond hopping through Westford.  We will begin at Forge Pond and then ride through the historic Forge Village to Mill Pond.  From there we will do some off road riding to get to Burges Pond, located in the gorgeous East Boston Camps.  Our ride continues with many twists, turns and stream crossings until we reach Nabnasset Pond (with outhouse).  From there, we will cross route 40 and visit Keyes Pond before climbing our one and only big hill to get back to Forge Pond….and lunch

The morning ride took us to the girl's side of the East Boston Camps.  The afternoon recreation ride will take a leisurely bike ride to the boy's side of the East Boston Camp and see Burge Pond from a different angle.  This ride is 11.4 miles with some gradual hills and a little more dirt road riding through the camp.

Starting Point - Pay attention if you have not been here before! We will be meeting at the Forge Beach Parking Lot.  This starting point is one of the most difficult to find.  The driveway to the parking lot has the rail line on the right and the river on the left.   The entrance to the beach is the small road on the map that parallels the railroad tracks.  If you get to Bradford Street on your right, or the red light in front of you, you have gone too far. Call Carole if you have directional problems (978-857-7203).  And stop laughing.

We found a great new lunch spot in Groton.  Check out Salt and Light Cafe.
