Dear AdventuRiders,
Its looks like our streak of good weather is over, we need the rain though.

Dear AdventuRiders,
If I feel better, I will join you. Otherwise I have simplified the routes below, and if somebody installs the RideWithGPS app, it will show you the way.
Friday looks to be a delightful day with temps in the 70s and low humidity. We will start at Meadowbrook Orchards in Sterling. They have breakfast, coffee, donuts, PORCELAIN, lunch, and take home goodies, everything a biker could want!
The Morning Fitness Ride will zip over to Sterling on the wide shoulder of Route 62. We can admire the "Mary Had A Little Lamb" statue before enjoying the Mass Central Rail Trail. After a stop at the Old Stone Church, we will return on scenic Chace Road.
The Afternoon Recreation Ride will go to George's Hill in Lancaster for some lovely views and then on to the Wachusett Reservoir and Dam in Clinton, one of the wonders of the 19th century. The hill back UP to Meadowbrook is no fun, but they put orchards at the top of the hill for a reason...
On Friday, May 29th - Meadowbrook Orchards, Sterling
Starting Point
- Name - Meadowbrook Orchards.
- Address - 209 Chace Hill Road.
- Town - Sterling, MA 01564.

Dear AdventuRiders,
You may have noticed the strange capitalization of Wednesday's ride location. Well, its supposed to be 92 degrees, so we will do a ride starting at Forge Pond with numerous opportunities to jump into various water bodies to cool off. Hence, we will put the WET in WEsTford. In addition to Forge Pond we will stop at pristine Burgess Pond, Nabnassett Pond, and perhaps Salmon Brook and Knopps Pond.

Dear AdventuRiders,
After the near wilderness experience (and many hills) of riding in Princeton on Wednesday, we will ride in a more urban environment on Friday. I've given up on predicting the weather. It could be clear / partly cloudy / overcast with seasonable / unseasonable temperatures. It may or may not rain, but probably just a passing shower. How is that for non-committal?
Anyhow, the Morning Fitness Ride is brand new and not fully "cooked" yet, but we will go to North Chelmsford and Freeman Lake, perhaps the former East Boston Camps in Westford and return.
The Afternoon Recreation Ride will go to Great Brook Farm State Park and Heart Pond.

Dear AdventuRiders,
I have good news, great news and even better news! First, the weather looks nearly perfect, perhaps a bit windy, but that will keep the bugs off. Secondly, there is a fresh, clean PortaPotty at the starting point. And best of all, the beautiful Princeton Public Library will be open and they have PORCELAIN :-) Oh, and there are goats along the way too...
One of our rest stops.
The ride itself is hilly, but nothing that we haven't done before. I'm still tinkering with the route, but it will be similar to the one I mapped below.

The Afternoon Recreation Ride will go to Pearl Hill State Park and then back UP to Lunenburg on a rather challenging, but very walkable, hill. The views are very nice and there are nice downhills to make up for the uphills. The bath houses at Pearl Hill may be open.

Dear AdventuRiders,
After a BEAUTIFUL week of riding (and a PERFECT 5 Boro Tour in NYC), it will be hard to top. However, we are going to Dunstable on Monday, Gloucester on Wednesday, and Lunenburg on Friday. The only "fly in the ointment" is the weather on Monday, we'll do our best!
I've been trying to mix the rides up a bit because the Recreation rides sometimes miss out on the best scenery in order to keep the ride difficulty at medium. The Monday morning Recreation ride gets "the best of Dunstable" with a slightly greater level of difficulty. Believe me, it will be worth it!
The Monday afternoon Fitness ride will be the "Field of Dreams" ride with a couple of challenging hills, but GREAT views.
The Wednesday "Fearless Leader's Choice" ride will be the Gloucester to Rockport ride around the end of Cape Ann. It will be our usual ride since there aren't too many route options here, but we will ride through "1%-ville" to the Eastern Point and stop at Good Harbor Beach on our way to LUNCH in Rockport.
I haven't totally figured out the Friday rides in Lunenburg yet because ALL the lunch places (and porcelain) have closed :-(

Dear AdventuRiders,
What can I say? Another PERFECT day is forecast for tomorrow!
PLEASE NOTE: there is construction at the Harvard Town Hall and you cannot use the driveway between the Town Hall and the Unitarian Church to get to the Start Point.
The Morning Fitness Ride is the infamous "Roller Coaster" ride. We will visit the Shaker Lollipop Cemetery, climb ("clank clank, clank" on the roller coaster) UP Oak Hill Road to the Harvard apple orchards. Then we will zoom ("whee" on the roller coaster) back DOWN to Harvard Center.
The Afternoon Recreation Ride will feature Bare Hill Pond. We can enjoy the town beach for a while at least before we (maybe) get throw out. Then we ride around the pond and UP to Prospect Hill for spectacular views of the Nashoba Valley (and GOATS too). Then its a tamer version of the roller coaster back to Harvard Center.
