Monday's ride will be an adaptation of one that Joel has done. It starts at his house and goes through Littleton, Westford and Groton. The route goes by Lost Lake. It is 16.9 miles and has 761' of elevation.
It has a couple of hills but I know those of you who have indicated an interest will do fine.
We'll leave at
9:30 from Joel's house at 3 Baron Way in Littleton. Map
The route is called
Littleton-Westford-Groton-2 and is
here.
We'll be back by noon.
The weather will be nippy at 35 when we leave and 41 when we return. But it will be totally sunny.
See you there.

Happy Thanksgiving all. I am thankful for the camaraderie and exercise you bring to my life.
Friday looks unpredictable in terms of rain but it will likely rain at different times of the day, so NO ride on Friday.
Monday looks to be nice and sunny, though chilly.
Please let me know if you want to ride on Monday and whether you'd prefer an 15 mile recreation ride (few hills) or a 25 mile ride with lunch in the middle and possibly more hilly.
There won't be a ride if no one responds.
Have a great weekend,
Bill

Even though it is no longer supposed to be rainy tomorrow, there will be a strong wind resulting in wind chills in the 30s all day long. That will make for unpleasant biking.
So we'll do the Hudson rides on Monday and not have a Fearless Leader Ride.
Details on Sunday….
Have a good weekend all.
Also, tomorrow is the anniversary of Bill Brandt's death. I plan to take some time to think about all the gifts he gave that have made a big difference in my life.

This Week: Gardner - Groton - Hudson
On Monday, October 24 - Gardner,Baldwinville,Winchendon - 10AM
Joel will lead us on this new Fearless Leader Choice Ride : "The ride starts out on a short bike trail that leads into Gardner. After a few city streets it's off to more country roads. The "adventure" part of the ride is on dirt roads that lead to the Birch Hill Dam on the Miller's River in South Royalston. The ride passes by Lake Dennison, a popular State park. Much of the 25 or so miles are on the paved sections of the North Central Pathway. I found a nice restaurant just off the trail called The River's Edge in Winchendon. Breakfasts are served all day. Portions are large. They do not take credit cards."
Starting point: Trailhead of North Central Pathway at 373 Green St., Gardner - small parking lot
10AM - The ride will leave
Route Map: Gardner Club Route 21.1 miles (maybe a little longer) ; 847 feet of elevation

Another glorious day tomorrow and perfect for biking. Temps 60 in the morning and 73 in the afternoon.
On Friday, October 7th - Lunenburg
9:30 AM - The Morning Fitness Ride will leave
Last season when we did this ride it was the reverse of how Bill B. had it (I think) so there was a long hill to climb.
I now have a reversed version of the ride which has a nice downhill portion. We can choose which one we want to do when we leave....
- Route Map - Lunenburg - Pearl Hill
- Distance - 13.8 miles.
- Elevation Gain -817 feet.
11:30 AM - We are scheduled to be back.
LUNCH is a PICNIC in front of the Boys & Girls Club. We may be able to get food if there's a place nearby. that's open or BYO
12:30 PM - The Afternoon Recreation Ride will leave- Route Map - Lunenburg - Shirley This ride goes by Lake Shirley and Lake Whalom
- Distance - 13 miles.
- Elevation Gain - 659 feet
2:30 PM - We are scheduled to be back.
