AdventuRides Update

Dear AdventuRiders,

As you know,  I am stepping aside as your Fearless Leader.  It has been great fun to exercise and explore with you over the last 13 years!  I am happy to report that AdventuRides will continue with two new leaders this fall: Bill Segal (bill.segal@comcast.net) and Jane Anderson (janeanderson1960@comcast.net)  Both Bill and Jane are experienced AdventuRides riders and leaders.  They might reach out to you as they decide the future format  of our group.
AdventuRides will NOT be listed in the recreation department listings this fall. You will be contacted by email with the details of our fall season as they become available.  I think you will be pleased with the changes under discussion.  We all clearly want your input and feedback.  Feel free to contact Bill and Jane directly if you wish.

Enjoy the summer- and I look forward to seeing you all in the fall.

Monday- HUDSON Wednesday- Portsmouth Fri- Have a great summer!

This is the last weekly schedule for the AdventuRides Spring 2016 season.  Monday is our last official day of AdventuRides, BUT we also have a Fearless Leader's Choice Ride to Portsmouth on Wednesday.  Perhaps the third time will be a charm.  Please RSVP if you plan to ride on Wednesday. The weather looks decent for tomorrow and great for Wednesday.

On Friday, we had a wonderful ride through Carlisle, to Harts Pond and Great Brook State Park.  Thanks to Jane for leading us and Nancy for hosting our party.  If you would like to see a slide show of our spring season,  you can watch it here.

Some riders have asked if we could continue over the summer.  I have invited everyone to join the  "AdventuRambles" googlegroup. If you are already a member, I don't believe you will be asked to join again. New members or those with new email addresses should get the request.  If you don't let me know.  Anybody in the AdventuRambles group can post a message to organize a hike, walk, movie, museum visit or even a bike ride. If you see an invitation to join the googlegroup in your mailbox, please accept it if you are interested in informal activities off-season.

Thank you all for a wonderful spring of riding, exercise, adventure, friendship and fun.

Carole

Hello,

The forecasts I checked predict 47% and 35% chance of thunderstorms in Portsmouth by 2.  We are too exposed on this ride to play games.  I don't mind rain but I draw the line at lightning.  SO… we are going to do the ride from Bedford to Davis Square instead.  This is a nice EASY ride with great food in the middle.  To make up for the disappointment of missing Portsmouth this week, Darlene has offered her deck with lemonade as a lunch spot. We'll do takeout at Dave's Fresh pasta.

Let me know if you are coming! We will try for Portsmouth next Wednesday.

Monday- Lunenburg Wed- Portsmouth Fri- Carlisle and PARTY

Dear AdventuRider,

This is the last official week of AdventuRides.  Thank you to everyone who filled out (an anonymous) survey.  I will consider the feedback carefully.  If you are interested in riding informally during the summer, let me know.  Wednesday looks iffy, but we have been incredibly luck with weather this spring and things could change.

There was no party date that worked for everyone, but this Friday was the best. We will hold a potluck celebration after our morning bike ride  Not only are our riders fun, intelligent and charming, many are also excellent cooks!  Once an AdventuRider, always an AdventuRider.  Past and current riders are welcome. Please let us know what you are bringing here.  Every category does not need an entry and some categories can have multiple entries. We just don't want all desserts and no main course… or do we?

Carole
