Dear AdventuRiders,
We don't have any "official" rides this week, but by mid week I will probably be stir crazy, and the weather is looking nice too. So, I scheduled an Exploration Ride for Wednesday that will start in historic Shirley Center. The Holdenwood gardens are absolutely amazing this year and we will ride by twice for double the enjoyment.
After visiting Holdenwood, we will go and enjoy the blossoms and views on Flat Hill before going to Lake Shirley. From there it is UP Wallace Hill to Brookline and the Nissitissit River. Then its off to Scotch Pine Farm for lunch (yum). Its about 8 miles back after lunch, and the hills continue with Mount Lebanon, Windmill Hill, and the hill back up to Shirley Center.
The ride is all on road, except for Scotch Pine's driveway, and quite hilly. The route is a little over 30 miles and the vertical is a little over 1300 feet. The major hill is Wallace Hill which isn't that steep, but it goes on and on.
On Wednesday, April 21st, we will meet in Shirley Center (NOT Shirley Village). Here is a map.
* At 9:30 AM - We will leave for Brookline, NH. Here is a map.
* At 12:30 PM ish - We will have lunch at the Scotch Pine Farm in Pepperell.
* At 2:15 PM - We can be back if necessary.
Hope to see you there,
Bill and Carole
